Anyhow, not having any stamps - or even bp- that fitted, I went on a trawl around the internet, and eventually came up with a couple of digi stamps; not many companies seem to be admitting to having Christmas images at the moment..........
The basic candy canes image came from Squigglefly, and I coloured it with promarkers before cutting out with a nestie and mounting onto a sheet of paper printed from the Artylicious Season's greeting cd (now available from Chocolate Baroque, at a bargain price when I looked), then onto a DL card.
I used a DL card again for the second one, this time from Pollycraft, think it was called Sherbet elf. Again I used promarkers, with a glitter gel pen on the wings then cut out the image and sat her on the base of a green mirri card nestie shape before using Anita's dimensional glue over the fur trimming on her outfit. Bp again from Season's Greetings cd.
Bah humbug is really making me use themes that I would never otherwise use, and I suspect that I will be making a nuisance of myself causing friends to dig deep into their stash for me several times before the year is out!
Hi Veronica - both your cards are fabulous - really sorry that we are causing you to run out and buy stuff, but what you bought are really lovely and I'm sure you'll use them many times in the future. The cutie from Pollycraft is just gorgeous and I must check out that bargain CD.

Hi Vronica,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely cards you have done this week as part of your guest design, I just love that little girl sat on the candy cane... she has got a right mischievous grin on her face..
Thanks for sharing with us

Two great cards with candy canes and the wonderful background papers from Seasons Greetings. Like you I'm having a struggle to come up with a candy cane but no doubt some of my many CDs will come up trumps in the end when I have time to look.
ReplyDeleteHi Veronica ... must admit that making up our list of challenge themes was the easy part ... the difficulty comes when actually making something to fit it lol! However you have done a fabulous job again with 2 wonderful examples. The backing papers are super and really suit the images you've used. Love the fluffy 3D effect trim on the sweet elf and have to compliment you on the shading on the ribbons! Great work.
