katya

Today i am sharing a sample using the lovely big Katya stamp from Chocolate Baroque. this is a big stamp, and much easier to colour in than it may look.

I stamped her in black versafine ink and clear embossed her before painting using a set of ancient mica paints - they're so old the clear cover has disintegrated, but the paints are fine!
Probably back to front, but I then masked Katya off and stamped the Eastern  looking castle image from magical landscapes twice in the background, using a light grey ink. I just wanted a hint of colour so i added distress inks fairly randomly using a sponge as i wanted a misty effect.

timeless

Today I have two samples from the June Chocolate Barqoue tv shows to share, both using the big stamp from the Timeless stamp set.
I couldn't resist using the whole stamp on a candle , once I had found a large enough candle that is ! As it was so large, I used two images stamped onto white tissue paper, one left black and white and the second one with the background coloured with marker pens. Run a wet paintbrush round the images and tear out, then use a heat gun to apply to the candle.
This is a large candle, and it was quite difficult to hold the copy paper tightly enough round the images when nusing the heat gun, really should have used oven gloves to hold the paper.

The second sample was a notebook , when i just used part of the stamp. This was about A6 in size, and had a black cover to begin with, which fit in nicely with the grungy image.
I started by making the background, using a page torn from an old diary, crumpled up and sprayed with diluted walnut stain ink. Once it was dry, I tore it to fit the cover, swiped a brown ink pad over the creases and round the edges and glued it down.
I stamped the image twice onto white card using versamark ink, and embossed one in silver and one in gold. The four clock faces were cut out of the silver one, and just the large one from the gold, and glued into place.

new stamps

There are some gorgeous new stamps coming from Chocolate Baroque on Tuesday 7 July, with shows on Hochanda TV at 10am and 3pm when Lesley Wharton will be in the studio with some great demos.
This is one of the samples I made for the show, a gatefold card using two of the new stamps - totem pole and dreamcatcher - and an older stamp, the cactus .
I  stamped both images on black card using versamark ink and silver embossed them, then coloured the totem pole with mica paints.

The inside panel was also stamped and silver embossed and painted with the mica paints

These stamps are very different, and were drawn by Kim Moody - all the DT team have had great fun making samples with the 3 stampsets , I don't think Hochanda have enough studio space to show them all!
