life is incredible

Life really is incredible, especially at the moment with the global pandemic - while we can't do much about that, at least we can celebrate the wonders of nature.

Chocolate Baroque have been showcasing some of their wonderful nature themed stamp sets, and here I have used several in this mini accordion book - kingfisher song, trees a crowd, tall trees and extras from timeless and make your mark. Sorry, no prizes for working out which came from which set ........you can cheat by using the search function on the Chocolate Baroque website.......

I created the backgrounds using distress oxide inks on a craft mat spritzed with water, mainly broken china and peeled paint and used small stamps in the same colours fairly randomly to add some interest before stamping the main images using black versafine clair ink.

I added colour to some of the images  using brusho powders

The cover pieces are larger than the inner pages, which is why they overlap on the first photo when i tried to show both together.
I am gradually getting to grips with this new version, the main difference is that I can't upload all the photos first and then add text round them - at least, I haven't found a way yet to do that!

Kingfishers

Today I have a card to share using two lovely nature themed stamp sets from Chocolate Baroque, kingfisher song and sticks and stones.
I used drawing cartridge to stamp the images, and versafine ink, and coloured with watercolour paints.
The reeds were stamped first, masked using masking fluid, and the smaller kingfisher stamped behind them, then the branch stamped on the left. Painted the bird and reeds, then added light washes for the sky, grass and water. The large kingfisher stamped onto a separate piece of cartridge, painted and cut out, then glued onto his branch.
The base card blank was stamped using the bridge at the top left and the reeds repeat stamped along the bottom. I coloured the stamps with distress marker pens.

Fingers crossed this post works, as there is a new version of blogger - I understand that the old version will end at the end of the month, so thought I had better try the new one now......took me 5 minutes to work out how to start a new post (for any other idiot, the large red + button at the bottom of the screen!), still not worked out how to wrap text round an image, took forever to add labels /links...........you will gather that I am not too impressed!
