birds

Sunday was craft club at Moira's again - a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon.
We started (reluctantly in most cases)  by making an exploding box card - I did finish it, but it still needs something else  added, so will photo it once I've decided what that something is!
After the hassle of trimming, scoring, cutting and glueing that, we were all rather relieved to get to play with Moira's new stamps from Hobby Art and do some peaceful colouring in.
These were my two creations - the birds were supposed to be bluetits or great tits, but I haven't got the colours quite right - they were coloured using my favourite watercolour pencils and a water brush, and the edges of the card brushed with distress ink.

The slightly larger card was white originally, so the edges were also brushed with green to tone down the white against the cream card we used for stamping.

  2. Wouldn't know which to choose from these two they are lovely and nicely coloured too. The various shaped and 'clever' cards are a bit of fun but I find the card buying public don't always 'get' them and they only really look good 'unpackaged' which isn't good if they are handled much as they soon get scruffy.

    1. I'm not too keen on the fancy ones either - as you say, generally people don't know how they work, and they are a devil to pack so they don't get tattty!

  5. These are lovely Vronnie! I have a real soft spot for bluetits (think your colouring is fab btw) they are such stroppy little characters, lol! We also have them busy with their babies a few feet from the back door. To be honest, much as I love them I wish we'd taken the box down because we have to be super vigilant in a week or so's time and won't be able to let the dog out if we can see the babies have left the nest. The last time Snoopy got 3 of them (he's worse than any cat & caught 2 teeny mice a few weeks ago) because we mistakenly thought they'd left the garden and it upset us so much but we can't think of any way to stop him. Ah well, we can only do our best.

    Hugs
